Why Choose This Tour?

The ultimate route to discover the soul, history, and sacred geography of the Andes! This program has been carefully designed for travelers who don’t want to choose between cultural richness and extreme adventure. In just one week, you will travel back in time through three key historical periods of Peru: the impressive urban planning of the pre-Inca Wari culture at Pikillacta, the splendor of Inca architecture and hydraulic engineering at Sacsayhuamán and Tipón, and the colonial artistic fusion reflected in the mansions and temples of the Historic Center.

This profound journey through history is perfectly complemented by some of South America’s most coveted natural wonders. You will challenge your limits by ascending to the geological colors of Vinicunca Mountain at over 5,000 meters altitude, contemplate the breathtaking turquoise beauty of Humantay Lagoon at the foot of the imposing snow-capped Salkantay, and crown your journey by exploring the sacred mysteries of Machu Picchu, the jewel of the Empire.

  • Prioritize Acclimatization: Dedicate the first day to complete rest. Altitude sickness (soroche) is best prevented by drinking coca tea and avoiding strenuous physical activity for the first 12 hours.

  • Layering Clothing (“Onion Theory”): The climate in Cusco varies drastically. Pack a windproof and waterproof jacket, warm clothing for the icy peaks (Vinicunca/Humantay), and lighter clothing for Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley.

  • Trekking Footwear: Comfortable hiking boots with good grip and preferably waterproof are essential for the hikes on days 5 and 6.

  • Mandatory Protection: High-SPF sunscreen (the Andean sun at high altitude burns easily), sunglasses with UV protection, a hat, and mosquito repellent for Machu Picchu.
