DAY 1: Arrival in Cusco – Welcome and Acclimatization
You will be met at the Cusco airport or bus terminal and transferred privately to your hotel. This first day is reserved exclusively for rest and allowing your body to gradually acclimatize to the altitude (3,399 m above sea level). We recommend a leisurely stroll through the picturesque cobblestone streets of the city center to connect with the city’s energy.
DAY 2: Sacred Valley of the Incas (Chinchero, Maras, Moray, and Ollantaytambo) – Connection to Aguas Calientes
We begin the day exploring the most iconic sites of the Sacred Valley. We will visit the traditional town of Chinchero with its textile heritage and colonial church; the spectacular Maras Salt Mines (with more than 3,500 salt ponds exploited since pre-Incan times); and the astonishing agricultural terraces of Moray. We’ll have lunch in Urubamba, and in the afternoon, we’ll explore the majestic fortress of Ollantaytambo. From there, we’ll board the train to Aguas Calientes to rest at our hotel.
DAY 3: Machu Picchu Sanctuary – The Culminating Experience and Return to Cusco
The most anticipated day! Very early in the morning, we’ll ascend by tourist bus to the legendary citadel of Machu Picchu. You’ll enjoy a comprehensive 2.5-hour guided tour of the main temples, plazas, and royal enclosures, understanding their astonishing engineering and Inca spirituality. In the afternoon, we’ll return by train to Ollantaytambo and then by private transport back to your hotel in Cusco.
DAY 4: Farewell to the Imperial City – Departure Transfer

Low to moderate. As this tour descends towards the Sacred Valley and the cloud forest (Machu Picchu), the altitude is lower than in the city of Cusco, making the hikes very comfortable and suitable for children and seniors.
At your hotel in Cusco. Since the train has luggage restrictions, all hotels in Cusco offer free secure luggage storage where they will keep your large bags until your return on Day 3.
Hydration and rest. Dedicate your first day to resting completely in Cusco, avoid heavy meals, and drink hot coca tea to help your body acclimatize naturally.
A minimum of 3 to 4 months. Machu Picchu has very strict daily visitor limits for its preservation. We recommend securing your tickets and tourist trains as far in advance as possible.
